It's almost time for New Year's resolutions and while I haven't made any myself, I want to suggest one to you, dear reader: get your finances in order. I only suggest this because I did it myself at the beginning of last year and it has made such a difference in my life. January 1 is such a nice date to start keeping your personal accounts in something like Quicken or Microsoft Money. And it makes tax time much easier too. With all the online banking connections offered nowadays, keeping your finances up-to-date is as easy as clicking a button.
I also recommend the Motley Fool. Tons of free information and advice there about how to get on top of, and stay on top of, your money. Their 60 Second Guides are fast tips on all sorts of important topics and their The 13 Steps to Investing Foolishly is a good primer on investment strategy. So go ahead: resolve to be the CFO of your own financial empire. Not only is it important, it's also fun! (Note: I have no connection with any of these products. I endorse because I love.)
