Alright, to add to the confusion of having too many places to post (company blog, this, discussion fora, etc.) I created megnut.diaryland.com, but it's only because Andrew's so funny and I have a secret crush on him and his eggpost cracks me up every time.

A pre-emptive New Year’s party
I'm having a New Year's Eve party tomorrow night. Figured since New Year's is always stressful, and overly planned, and often a let-down, I'd get it out of the way now. In the Bay Area? Wanna come? Email me for directions.
A book in honor of banned books
In honor of Banned Books Week (thanks pb!) I'm going to create a book page of my all-time favorite books. This weekend. Er, soon. In the meantime, I'm recommending Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, a tonic for the soul.
I had no idea
The average person uses the Web once every 13 days and stays there for an hour. Wow, that doesn't seem like much at all. I figured it was higher than that by now.
Goodbye Mr. Scott
Actor George C. Scott dead. If you haven't seen Patton, I highly recommend it.
Oh sadness
Mars orbiter presumed lost– bummer. I love any and all things related to space travel, especially Mars! I'd love to be on the first (wo)manned mission to Mars.
Something is amiss
I'm really hating things right now.
Supreme trouble
The Golden Rule didn't go over so well for Diana Ross in the UK.
Quaking in our seats
We're feeling ripples of earthquakes here in the office today, so pb just carried water to each of our desks, so that when we throw ourselves underneath them for safety, we won't succumb to dehydration when we're trapped under the rubble for days. Thanks pb!
On freedom
"[F]reedom to differ is not limited to things that do not matter much. That would be a mere shadow of freedom. The test of its substance is the right to differ as to things that touch the heart of the existing order." – Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson
