Ev posts about online education

Ev posts about online education today which is something I've been thinking about a lot lately (don't ask me why, I have no idea). One of the things, in retrospect, I find so frustrating about traditional education is the virtual one-way traffic of ideas between students and teachers/professors. As an English major in college, I wrote lots of papers. I had lots of ideas and thoughts and theses I expounded which fell on very few ears, mainly my professor, and if it were a large class, a TA or two. That was it. Imagine now integrating the power of the web into the classroom: a simple app like Blogger to facilitate publishing, hang a discussion off it, require posting/commenting by students, and get people learning from each other, talking to each other. What a waste to have 20 (or 40 or 60) people pour their hearts and brains into papers that get read by one or two other people.
