Hearing Mr. Clean talk after

Hearing Mr. Clean talk after forty years isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Couldn't they have done a better job with this? It sucks.

Just noticed that pb pointed

Just noticed that pb pointed the webcam at me and my posture is terrible. Must try to sit up straight when slaving over computer.

A slow start this morning,

A slow start this morning, I think it's the overcast sky, the slight dribblings of rain, and a heavy exhaustion. Add to that a dash of quiet REM here in the office, and I feel ready to crawl under my desk and sleep another six hours. I think I need to up my caffeine dose in the morning, two shots of espresso does not seem to be enough.

There's a porn site powered by Blogger. If you put a link to Blogger on your site, I'll tell you where it is. [notice: offer void if you are under the age of 18 or live somewhere where they don't allow porn or any other legal stuff]

Web designer gang signs. Really,

Web designer gang signs. Really, we do sit around the office all day making our signs. It's how we pass our day between the trips to the bathroom. [thanks webmonkeyboy, whoever you are!]

Happy President's Day, and Happy

Happy President's Day, and Happy Birthday to my little brother Mike, who's not so little and is turning 25 today!

Where would I be without

Where would I be without you, world wide web? I love you!

This is my favorite headline

This is my favorite headline in a long long time: Wall Street in Drunken Borrowing Binge. Any article that uses the expression "like a bunch of drunken sailors" when referring to Wall Street suits cracks me up!

I don't really mention anywhere

I don't really mention anywhere on this site (aside from in random posts) the names of sites I read on a regular basis. I guess I could, but until my recent design changes, I didn't have a good place to do it. Now I have the place, but not the inclination (it's laziness and an aversion to linking to only a few people when I read a lot of different sites, if you must know). But I wanted to spotlight Metafilter. Yeah yeah, you're probably already reading it, it's not like it's new or hasn't been linked to by others. But until recently, I was only checking it a couple times a week, and then something happened. And now I check it every day, several times a day. And I love the community that's grown there, and the fresh links, and the foray into the forefront of blogging that's taking place everyday. (wow)

It's sunny and warm today

It's sunny and warm today for a change, and I'm hunkered down working working working. But I slept for a really long time last night, 12 hours (I feel like jack writing that), so I'm feeling refreshed and able to concentrate and crank out code. Which is a very good thing.

Derek asks what the hell is a weblog? I posted my response on his site. You can too!

It's strange when so many good things are happening to feel so bad.

MUNI mantra for smells

Last night, I had to invoke a new MUNI mantra:

"The smell of turpentine is as sweet as a cherry blossom.

Ev: "Did you see the wreckin' ball today? It was doin' lotsa smashin'!!!"

Goodbye PointCast. I remember the

Goodbye PointCast. I remember the day this service came out, I got a phone call from a friend of the director of PR, excitedly telling me where to go to download it. And boom, next thing I knew, I was installing it on everyone's desktop at work, and people from other departments were coming in, asking, "Hey, what's that? Can you help me get it too?" It didn't last too long in our office, but man, it sure was cool while it was there. It doesn't seem like as much stuff happens on the web these days that makes me go, "wow oh wow, how do I get that?" These days it's more like, "no oh no, why did they do that?"

Blog This! for Manila

Cool, Dave implements Blogger's right-click Blog this! feature for Manila. It's great to see this being picked up by other applications -- it makes publishing to the web *so* easy, and that's a win for everyone!

A new megnut design

Finally, ok, here's the new megnut design, to be tweaked even further when the urge strikes me, but for now this is it. I call it "Blue Megnut," you can tell my creativity's been off the charts lately. Anyway, let me know if there are any problems with your browser/OS combo. This should be working fine in both browsers 4.0+.

Server go down, megnut go down

Server upgrades are happening right now, so megnut's going down down down right about now. If I'd had more notice, you would have to. Sorry.
